I have re-downloaded the script as advised and renamed it to
.js and made sure that Opera is pointing to the script.

At this stage changing the auto-play/auto download/more comments variables does not work so I will go onto your next suggestion.

I have updated flash player to the latest version and it makes no difference. I performed all flash tests I could find and it looks like it is working as it should.

When I go to this page: http://www.youtube.com/html5 it states that "You are not currently in the HTML5 beta."

I only have NIS 2010. I do not think it is blocking javascript files. It doesn't even integrate with Opera like it does with Firefox and IE.

I cleared the error console and watched a random video on
Youtube. Here are the javascript errors in the console afterwards:

I've tested the script today with Opera 10.10 and it works ok. The script doesn't need Java. Some ideas:

- If you have modified the script, try redownloading it. Make sure that you change ".user.js" to ".js" and put it in the folder you have selected in Opera's options
- Try reinstalling/updating Flash Player to the last version
- Make sure you aren't using the new YouTube interface (HTML 5)
- Post any error you have in the error console while navigating a YouTube video page (clear it first)
- Have you modified any other Javascript option in Opera's preferences?

Hi. I'm using Opera v10.10 and really like this script. The problem is that after having followed the guide it doesn't seem to work. I renamed the script as 36453.js as directed, put it in C:\Users\Administrator\Application Data\Opera\Opera\styles\user and directed Opera to look in that folder via Tools > Preferences > Content > Javascript options. I made some changes (e.g autoplay and autodownload false, big comments etc) saved and reset the browser and nadda. Is there something I've missed? Do you need Java as well as Javascript? Please help.

It is mentioned that the configuration dialogue cannot be implemented. You might be aware of the "Ultimate Youtube" script by Avindara http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/31864. A user of this script has modified it to get the dialog working under opera. Please test this script http://userscripts.org/topics/38226 and try to implement it into this one.

Hello!

Been using it for a few days now, it's a superb script - probably the most useful I have in my scripts folder.

I was wondering, can it be made so that it works with videos embedded in other pages? That'd be really cool...

Ah yeah, I knew about this, I just thought the script may be checking internally (if it's even possible) about the filename... Again, thanks for a great and lovely script. It will save my ears tons of noise, since my girlfriend usually keeps lots of YT tabs open on her laptop and each time she fires it up I've got to listen to all of them playing at the same time... :D

I'm glad it works ok now. You can rename it from 36453.js to yousabletubefix.js if you want, the important thing is that it doesn't end in .user.js, because then Opera executes the script using a Greasemonkey compatibility mode that doesn't seem to work ok in my tests.

Javascript is active and the script folder is ok, since other scripts work ok. Script has been renamed to 36453.js (really, does it have to have this number instead of a friendly name?).

YAY! It works! I'll be damned... I didn't change A THING, I just opened another video to check the site preferences, and I saw all the extra options! If that's ain't weird, I don't know what is! Looks fantastic. Thanks a mil!

I don't see anything wrong in your log. Check "Tools" / "Preferences" / "Advanced" / "Content" / "JavaScript options" and tell me which options are enabled/disabled. Make sure you have Javascript active and your script folder is ok. Make sure you have renamed the script file from 36453.user.js to 36453.js

I have tested it too with Opera 9.64, so that's not the problem. Do you have any other userscript active? Any Javascript error in the error console? Try using the unmodified version of the script and see if it works ok before configuring it.
