Hey there, I want to voice an opinion on this userscript.

First - amazing job, it's super useful and definitely makes for an improved youtube experience.

However, I must say that the frequency of updates does get a little annoying - it feels like it's way too often that I have to come to this update page, and that purple banner that blocks off the top of the screen is pretty in-your-face.

It would be better if updates came at certain intervals like twice a month or something... I notice no difference in the experience after any of them.

Sorry, but it's not possible with GreaseMonkey...
Unless the GreaseMonkey dev do something about it.

Sorry but what exactly does the clean_flashvars do?

It check/modify all the data send to the player.
So it can enable/disable the Annotations/Captions/Subtitles.

temporary fix:
replace (2 times)

subtitle_module|ttsurl

subtitle_module|ttsurl|cc_module

or you can disable "Clean the video flashvars"

The script disables the caption functions...hope you can fix this...

Ex: in this link, normally you can turn on caption and even translate it

Solved a problem with localStorage returning only string. (5+'1'=51 ...not 6)
Reworked Quality Selector
The bulb are now canvas (added colors in options)

now it's work, and save.
But I changed the options and get this error:

media_controller => TypeError: Cannot call method 'toLowerCase' of undefined

UPDATE:

1)If i change in: "Change the kill button aspect" not changes the button aspect
2)If we change the wmode got error in media controller

Confirmed: Google Chrome GM_getValue function is broken.
And all the remaining GM functions are dummy functions.

Try the last version (2009-11-21b), and see if it working fine.

If the bold link in the Quality Selector is not brown, you may need to click on the bold link.
And then, from the Details Box (the one with "Subscribe"), copy the link in the URL Box.

I already have the script set to load the highest available quality video automatically -- is there a way to make the URL in the address bar change accordingly?

For instance, say I watch a video and YouTube Enhancer automatically switches to the high quality version. If I want to share this video in high quality, I have to manually add "&fmt=18" to the URL, which gets tiresome after awhile. Is there a setting which will append the correct "fmt" code for high quality, HD, etc., based on the highest quality available?

(PS: thanks for this awesome script! Best YouTube one I've ever seen.)

Things look much better this way. The interface is as it should be running the script, except for an error message displayed at the top: (see #1 below). I get the following in the console:

(1) function () {

(2) GreaseMonkey not detected...
(3) Using localStorage...
(4) Player detected: http://s.ytimg.com/yt/swf/watch-vfl134122.swf
(5) Flush YouTube Player
(6) Media Controller : Global variable for "Embed URL" not found
(7) Warning: GM_registerMenuCommand don't work !

Without the second FORCE_LANGUAGE part, I don't get the error message, and the console says this:

Seems like Google Chrome has some broken GM functions...

try to uncomment the line with:

//delete GM_log; delete GM_getValue;

and retest

Also, can you put under the const FORCE_LANGUAGE = ''; :

show_alert(GM_setValue.toString(),1);

and tell me what it's displayed ?
