What does it take to use this script with Mozilla Labs Prism?

Prism is built from Firefox code, I understand..

Certainly makes somethings way easier, faster than running an entire browser:)

Better TM under Chrome - much awaiting, replied by Andrew Paprotsky

Hi Jan,

Thanks a lot for the review!

The script was migrated into standalone Firefox extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/... , and I'm no longer maintaining original greasemonkey script. As far as I know, Chrome, at the moment, doesn't (fully) support extensions. Once the support is announced and well-documented, I think I'll try to allocate some time and create similar Chrome extension.

Regards,
Andrew

Hi.
Better RTM itself is the last stronger reason I keep Firefox starting.
I mostly use Chrome, but without Better RTM is use of RTM itself not so good.

Any plans to make it running under Chrome?
I did some small test, but did not suceed.

Refresh to update task count, replied by Andrew Paprotsky

Hi Gordon,

I'm glad you're happy with the latest updates!

The extension completely replaces the script.

Because of some Mozilla restrictions, the extension won't update automatically until it's in experimental status. Once the status is changed to "public", it will start to update automatically. The status of the extension can be changed only after someone from Mozilla's editors confirms that it's safe to use. I hope it won't take too much time for them to review.

Regards,
Andrew

You, sir, are my new hero.

First of all, the problem (appears) to be solved.

Secondly, Holy shit does this look clean now. Seriously. What an awesome change. Looks absolutly great.

Is the extention going to be replacing the script completely, as in, can I now just rely on the FF updater to grab new versions of A Bit Better RTM?

(PS, Drag and drop list organization = win)

Is There Way for Smart Lists to Be On Top?, replied by Andrew Paprotsky

Hi Mike,
I prepared standalone "A Bit Better RTM" firefox extension - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/... with drag-and-drop functionality.

As it happens, it wasn't that easy to integrate drag-and-drop into greasemonkey script, it became too complex, and so I decided to compile the script into standalone extension.
Regards,

Since the Smart Add update I have had to refresh the page in order to update the task count for individual lists. It's not something that happens 100% of the time, and I feel like it has to do with the way new tasks are added through the new task entry mechanism.

Excessive padding on list sidebar, replied by Gammon

I'm having trouble with the sidebar being too wide when I use somewhat long list names.

You can see what I'm talking about in the image here: http://www.foodbubbles.com/images/rtm.PNG

It seems like the sidebar is much wider than it needs to be to accommodate the list name. There's too much padding on the right. This pushes the tag cloud and other right-side elements off my screen a bit so I have to scroll to the right to see them.

Text wrapping of list names or auto-resizing the middle task region would be nice, but I understand if that's a bit difficult.

As an easier fix would it be possible to simply adjust the amount of padding on the right side of the bar to make it only as wide as it needs to be?

I'm on FF 3.5.3 and Windows XP SP3

Thanks. Great script.

Is There Way for Smart Lists to Be On Top?, replied by WCityMike

Understood, but that can make it very easy to lose track of projects that have been individually hidden.

I'm just thinking that if you don't want to -- or for a while won't be getting around to -- coding up individually rearranging projects via drag-and-drop, this would be a quick solution.

You could have it be something someone clicks, or map it to a letter, but this way, all you'd have to trigger is whether the "normal" CSS was active or the "hide normal projects" CSS was open (#listtabs ul li as "display:none" and #listtabs ul li.xtab_smartlist and #listtabs ul li.xtab_selected as "display:block").

Just a thought.

Is There Way for Smart Lists to Be On Top?, replied by WCityMike

Darn. There's no "quick hack" methodology I could somehow implement? One of the big productivity problems I've been having is that all of my Smart Lists, since they're sorted at the bottom, are essentially off-screen. And, as they say, "Out of sight, out of mind."

I suppose I could just hide tons of the manual lists. That's highly unideal since I'd not see those individual project lists, though. :(

Just out of curiosity, if you weren't to implement it via drag-and-drop, but just by having first Smart Lists and then non-smart lists, is that an easier fix?

I strongly suspect that this preference (for Smart Lists to be on the top, instead of the bottom) is a preference most of your users share. I don't have hard data on that -- it's just my strong suspicion.
