Breaks Chat Bar in FB, replied by ryryq

Hey, when I have FlickrZoom enabled, it makes the Facebook chat bar unclickable. I have tried a different combination of scripts but it seems to be this one that is causing the issue.

Thanks, Ryan.

facebook image's zoom not working[the solution], replied by brandobean

Vlag is correct. There is a typo that tries to enable the site for http://http://facebook.com/*" This results in the script being totally broken for facebook. Pretty sneaky since it asks you to auto-update the script FROM facebook and then the resulting update doesn't work there!

Can you do a quick update to fix the typo? I edited it manually for now, but that's a power user thing to do. Thanks!

Also, getting larger images in Flickr is a bit confusing. You have to enable a related script right?

Hello, great script, great job!

but I think there is an error: the update is not working with facebook because in the list of the websites's links it's written: "http://http://www.facebook.com/*" -> just remove 1 "

I think aar0on was referring the the "large" size on Flickr which is different than the original one. The Large size is 1024x768 (big but not larger-than-a-screen big)

That's a bit more difficult than showing the medium version, because it requires more than URL transformation. I've thought about from time to time, but I'm not sure whether to go for it yet... Might try it at some point just to see how it works. Problem is that sometimes the original is huge (bigger than most normal screens).

I searched the script, and couldn't figure out how to do it on my own, so I'm wondering if there's a modification I could do to have the zoom open up the large version of an image, instead of the medium? Assuming there's no large version allowed, it could simply revert to medium again. Might be a nice option, even if not everyone wants to use it.

Flickr updated their search feature, and each thumbnail in search has an 'i' (for info) right where the Flickr zoom link appears. You never know which one you're going to get when you hover. Any way you could update the script so the zoom icon is on the left of the photo, not the right?

Too easy to falsetrigger this script - suggested fix, replied by brandobean

Wait, I figured out the repro steps with the most recent version! It's still broken. All you have to do is trigger the script on the page, ever, even once, and from that point on, the arrow keys will always start zooming images. Ideally, clicking CLOSE on any zoomed image should reset the script to it's default non-triggered state.

REPRO:
1. Go to a FB page with a text field you can type in (this is most pages....example, under a status update, or in your news feed, under any item where you can type a comment)
2. Mouse over a picture to see the magnifying glass with + in it and click to expand it (i.e. use the script)
3. Click CLOSE on the photo to end the script.
4. Start typing in any text field, and press an arrow key

RESULT: The script is still running... and pics start zooming in/out over what you are typing.
EXPECTED: Closing a zoomed photo stops running the script so that arrow keys don't re-trigger the script.

So your fix is close... but not quite there! :) Good luck. I love your work.

Is this a problem even with the newest version? It's not supposed to trigger on the arrow keys unless an image has already been zoomed, but I no this was a problem until one of the latest releases.

Too easy to falsetrigger this script - suggested fix, replied by brandobean

I've noticed that it's super easy to trigger the zoom feature of this script by mistake. Specifically if you use CTRL+arrow while typing in a text box on facebook it suddenly grabs a picture and zooms it right over where you were typing. This is, of course, hyper annoying.

CTRL+ arrow keys are how you move the cursor 1 word at a time and I use this constantly while entering comments, updating my status etc. I do it reflexively and am surprised everytime when suddenly an image zooms over my task and I have to click it to make it go away.

SUGGESTED FIX: Don't allow CTRL+Arrow keys to start the script zooming images. Instead allow the use to trigger the script manually by clicking the zoom icon and THEN allow arrow keys to go from pic to pic. Thanks!
