Hello,

I just wanted to point out that some videos are available in higher quality even though youtube says that they aren't.

An example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVKnF26qFFM (standard)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVKnF26qFFM&fmt=18 (high)

This is to bad because I like the idea of automatic high quality instead of having to use a script that inserts a link.

Fantastic! This saves me a) having to let YouTube take a permanent cookie; b) having to constantly set the HD view; and even c) having to wonder every time if I've actually got the HD or not. Great little problem-solver. Thanks! Now if I can just figure out which script works correctly to save the mp4...

i signed up here just to say thanks for the script, as youtube refuses to remember my settings. i set it to HQ in my account preferences, but it always reverts back to automatic. i would imagine other people have that problem as well.

so thanks.

Edit to my comment: I'll still use this, but I didn't even know about the setting in Jonny's link. Sneaky bastards at youtube. :)

I don't think it's redundant at all. I find it annoying that every time I click on a video, I have to click on another link to reload it sans the horrible compression. I think this is handy to bypass that whole pain in the ass. So thanks, Joe, I'l be using this.

Hi,

I think this script is redundant because there is an option on the website whether or not to use the higher quality: http://www.youtube.com/video_quality_settings
