Updated taking on board suggestions by mgd_uk and siderunner.

The script now works with references using the older John ch3v16 type references as well as the John 3:16 or John 3.16 type.
Updated the German bible and added Korean.

Hi Raindrop,

This is a bit of an issue, however if a tooltip is badly positioned just grab the shaded area at the top of the tip and move it somewhere better, this is especially useful if someone references an entire chapter.

I am hoping to improve the initial positioning for references at the edge of the page but haven't got round to it just yet!

Dear Raindrop,

ANS 1 If you notice a major slowdown then disable the script, it does check every webpage but only after the page is loaded, it takes less than a second.

ANS 2 In the source code there is a section at the end called "Configuration data" If you want to reduce the number of options just delete the sections between the curly braces { ... } that you don't want.

I have found that when a verse appears close to the browser window's right edge, it is likely that the tooltip will not be fully visible.

Here is a screenshot of the regular firefox browser without the mouse over any passage:

Notice:
1) The verse is not fully visible
2) The horizontal scrollbar appears at the bottom of the browser, but it's not even possible to scroll to the right because the mouse is in use and the Right arrow button won't work.

Dear Richard or fellow Bible_Tooltips userscript users,

QUESTION 1
Everytime I open a new webpage, even a page that doesn't have any Bible verses, it seems that my browser is slower than before. Is it because the Bible_Tooltips script slows down every webpage? If so, I guess I'll disable the userscript when I'm checking my gmail, etc.

QUESTION 2

There are 10 options (languages; versions) in this userscript:
1. New International Version (en)
2. English Standard Version (en)
3. NET Bible (en)
4. New American Standard Version (en)
5. La Bible du Semuer (fr)
6. Nueva Version Internacional (es)
7. Elberfelder (de)
8. Chinese Union Version (Simplified) (zh)
9. Arabic Life Application Bible (ar)
10. Russian Synodal Version (ru)

Would it be possible to cut out those options I don't use? For example: options 5-10? If this is possible, any tips on how to edit the userscript?

The Elberfelder is no longer supported. But there are two other bibles in German. I added them as follow:

Excellent script - good work!

I've written a quick addition, to allow for the fact that some people write their references in the form John 1v2 (i.e. using a 'v' instead of a colon or dot).

Just search for "if (matches[1])" and add this line after that:

ref = matches[1] + matches.input.substring(matches.index+matches[1].length,matches.index+ref.length).replace('v',':');

It's a bit of a bodge, but does the job.
