1.07 stopped working yesterday after I updated my delicious, no script and flashgot so I will try this shiny new version that goes in through my Firefox extensons...

This has been an amazing greasemonkey script! I've used it since last year (I think, must check Jerome's site for my first post) and it's saved me a ton of time and allowed me to customize my signature without annoying attachments.

Version 1.11.01 of the stand-alone Firefox add-on has been released and includes a new French translation:

Hi Everyone, I installed the Blank Canvas Gmail Signature Firefox extension, and it works nicely for replying to and forwarding messages. But it doesn't seem to work well with messages saved in the Drafts box. Each time a message is opened in Drafts, a new signature is added, piling one upon the other. Has anyone figured out a solution to this? Thanks.

Would someone help me uninstall the previous release of the HTML Sigs? I removed it from the GreaseMonkey manager window, and un-installed the CreaseMOnkey add-on from the firefox 3.0. But I still have the HTML Sigs 1.07 in my GMail. And it stills adds the signature block when I compose e-mail in GMail. Thanks!

As an Opera user I'd like to see a version script that works in Firefox as well as Opera. Admittedly it wouldn't be as user-friendly, but if it works in my favorite browser, I'll happily edit the code to set options.

Ok, v1.08 is officially released, but it's an extension for Firefox (add-on), no longer a Greasemonkey script. Much easier to install, configure, and update.

For everyone that's been waiting for this script to stabilize, I'm almost done with version 1.08, which will pretty much blow all previous versions out of the water in terms of ease of use, stability, and functionality. Version 1.08 will be released as a Firefox extension rather than a Greasemonkey script. This means that it will be much easier to install, configure, and keep up to date.

Hey All, now that FF3 has been released and is no longer in beta, I'll find some time to get the script up and working with it. I'm sorry for all of you that can't use it right now, but I'll have it up as soon as real life allows.

If all goes as planned, the next release of this script will be as a Firefox 3 extension. It's my first stab at FF extension writing though, and I am heading to France for a week for business in a few days, so please be patient with me.

I like your extension but it's a little "problematic" with FF3.
With the new release of FF it can handle protocols like "mailto:" but if I define a "body" parameter in mailto link it's overwritten by the signature.

i have been happily using this script since late february, it took about a week or so after my last post for it to start appearing in my google apps account.
Recently i have upgraded my pc (copying my firefox profile over to the new pc)

I was sad to see that this script did not appear in either of my gmail accounts after the upgrade.

i've read through the known bugs, and recent posts and the only thing that sticks out, is maybe somethings gone screwy with greasemonkey..

i'll re-install and cross my fingers again!

My signature works sporadically with this script. Sometimes it will show up and sometimes it will not (i.e. no signature at all). I only have 1 account.

It will store a signature for either one of my email addresses - but not both.
Am using Google Apps.

On FF3b5: If the script disappears, Clear you cache (only cache!) and reload. Ctrl-F5 doesn't work.

After a quick look at the script it seems as if the google greasemonkey api ('unsafeWindow.gmonkey') is not available when any elements are cached, strange!? (Even with only greasemonkey ext installed, 20080121 version)

The script still works just fine on the latest final (non-beta) release of Firefox (2.0.0.13). I will not be working on a fully supported Firefox 3 script until its official release this Falyl (if my understanding is correct). I simply do not have the time to rework the script for every release of the beta. My understanding is that it wasn't working through FF3 beta 3, but I have tested the script on FF3 beta 4 and FF3 beta 5, and they BOTH work for me. As soon as Mozilla gets close to a final FF3 release, I will check for final compatibility.

If the script "suddenly stops working" on any version of Firefox 2, FF3 beta 4 or FF3 beta 5 for which it was previously working, it is probably due to a conflict with another script or add-on that you have added. Try uninstalling everything but this script, checking if it works, then re-installing your other scripts and add-ons which checking for compatibility.

Please see known bugs (http://blankcanvasweb.com/gmail2_html_sigs/bugs/) before posting an "it's now working" comment.

Keep in mind that this is a free script that I work on in my free time. I know that it's not perfect, but while I am dedicated to making this work on as many versions of Firefox and Gmail as possible (I use it myself all the time), I do need to put supporting my family first.

Using FF 3 Beta 5, just noticed that when I turn on HTML Signatures, not only does it not work but it prevents my Rememberthemilk Gmail extension from working. Disabling this script allows RTM to start working again.

I noticed the same problem with enabling 2 specific options in the Better Gmail 2 extension.

Still love the script, just can't wait for FF 3 to go final so everyone can get all the kinks worked out.

Doesnt seem to be working for me anymore, tried uninstall / reinstall checked it on 2 machines.
Hopefully its nothing major and there will be a fix soon :)
