Manual download is not the only option with YouTube Robot. You may as well schedule the download and conversion tasks to be executed automatically, even when you are not around. Downloading is followed by conversion to the format of your choice and uploading videos to a mobile device (if needed). For example, you can plug in iPod, select the video, go to bed, and when you wake up next morning, your iPod will be ready to play new YouTube videos.

In fact, you can download YouTube videos for free in many way... but you must clear the video you download is FLV format which can go nowhere, you need to play it with a FLV Converter.
if you want to put this video on your MP3 Player, iPod, PSP or other mobile devices. you need to convert it.
So if there is a tool can download and convert it to the right format and you can also crop or trim this video. it would be much better.

You guys really need to check out videopiggy it totally works. You can download any video and convert it to what ever format. I have seriously downloaded like 20 video and there now on my Zune... Here's the link VideoPiggy.com

Nice script, but I think http://www.youtubedownload.nl/ is best, it automaticly checks if there is a HD - or mp4 version available. So it's better than other sites.

I using the NetVideoHunter addon for Firefox to download videos and music from any site, with two clicks after installation. So i don't need to trick with youtube urls.

An application I've tried and works is tooble. It works great, is simple and straight to the point. The link is tooble.tv it's on both OS X and windows. It's the best app. I've come across in a while.

For MAC USERS:
How to download youtube videos on mac:
1. Find your favorite video. This step is pretty self explanatory. Be sure to use Safari and search for your favorite YouTube Video. It's as easy as that!

2. Next, you need to go to “Window” and down to Activity. Click on “Activity” to bring up the next dialog box.

3. Once the dialog box has popped up you need to look for the YouTube page among all the page titles and files listed in the window.

4. Once you locate it and expand all the activities going on in the page, look for the largest file size (this is shown in the right hand corner). Most of the files found in a YouTube page are small files while most FLV files are several megabytes.

Once you locate the largest file, double click on it. This should cause another window to open and a download to ensue after that called "get_video".

zakaria, your site (asuming its yours since you spam the same message all the time, also on other sites!) steals the script from keepvid! And how can you find the time to spam comments, but can't keep your site working? Go fix your site first, then continue spamming ^^ *(And build/steal your own script that does support mp4 etc ^^)

ILikeYouTube.Com is full of ads and junk you dont need when downloading. Techtracker is less junk, but it doesn't work atm. www.youtubedownload.nl does work, and its already adjusted for the recent update of youtube, so that it can still offer mp4 & hd flv links. Their is just one ad on the site, but its at the bottom of site, so it wont be too anoying ;)

uh... I know a tool called "PQ FLV Downloader". It can capture the youtube video url automatically. And its downloading speed is several times faster than others.
Check http://www.pqdvd.com/download-youtube-videos-to.... Its trial version offers 14 days full privilege use.

After I tried some youtube converter on Internet, I found many of them not good to use.
