Support for arrow scrolling, replied by Johan Sundström

Your suggested feature sounds like a new script. This script does something when you click a link. Clicking that link tells the script where you want to scroll to in the document. A tap at up, down, left or right moves a few pixels only, and would probably be mostly an annoying user experience smooth scrolling.

(If that is the feature you are suggesting, it will not be implemented by me.)

Hello,

love the script.
Good work!
One suggestion, though:

Enable support for the arrow keys (37,38,39,40)? Or just up/down?

Would be a great replacement for several Firefox addons.

Or at the script home page in my blog, for that matter. (I'd like to promote such a bug there, too, if it might buy it some more publicity.)

I'm still torn about whether that qualifies as a browser bug, or an inevitable misfeature by design of the script. I'm presently leaning towards browser bug; it's the state of my session before I clicked a link that the "back" button should return me to. I'd file a mozilla bug on it if I felt more strongly about it, but go very low on such strong wording my case. It would be a very nice feature being rid of this misfeature, but I won't hold grudges against whatever is behind this not already being done in every browser.

Still, recent mozillas have started to remember the page state of places I went to and completely rearranged by means of scriptlets and user scripts, so people are obviously trying to improve on things like these. If anyone finds or files a bug on this for us to vote on, please link it from here.

It's a very nice script. The only problem is that because of the way it works, if you click on the back button to return to where you were previously, it only moves you up a line from where you currently are.
