[People, please be aware that Google changes its code evrytime so that those scripts cease to work; its their google bizness to get us readers to be drowned into google ads for better google profits, hence its fairly logical that scripts like that works bad, briefly or not at all.] Drives me mad though, not only me but to see my kids with 25% of screen devoted to ads when they mail their friends.Urgh. Please keep trying.

I just downloaded this script, and it doesn't work. I'm guessing it's because Gmail recently changed their interface; Gmail Macros doesn't work either.

Suggestion - Addition Of Other Useful Items, replied by sjb

Howdy -

Quick suggestion: Would be really cool to have the "Thread Toolbox" also have the "Map It" and "Add XXX To Your Google Calendar" contextual functions that the ad-enabled GMail offers at times.

Possible?

Thanks for the cool script.

yeah. the script uses Gmail's API. for some reason, it has recently not always been accessible, and i haven't been able to figure out why at this point. it's pretty much totally random. when i figure it out, though, you will all be informed immediately :)

@Boe Darnez It wasn't working for me this morning as a result of the new FireBug release. I had to go back and disable firebug for the Gmail site again. That did it for me. Maybe it's conflicting with some other extensions or scripts that you have?

@Mikkel i dunno man. .. the classic programming answer: "it's working on my machine".
I've actually tested it in a few different situations, though, and it seems to work in both gmail and google apps. it's still moody with FF3, but it seems to be working most of the time.

okay, so the thing with the ads shifting with the links was just a result of Gmail's layout changing slightly. .. that's fixed now.
the other issue with the script simply not working at random times is still a bit of a mystery. ..

Not running firebug, but I am seeing the same wonkiness (adds in - and spilling out of - the thread box). Running FF3, GM 0.8.2, & a few FF2 extensions made compatible via MRTech Toolkit. Also have a couple of the experimental GMail features enabled. I'll try disabling those and post again if it makes any difference.

Same problem there !
I've updated FF3 to final version (French version) then removed the old version of your script (with preference deletion) then installed the new one, and restarted FF3.
On Gmail, sometimes the sidebar is removed, sometimes not :(
I'm not using Firebug.
