OK, fine, found the current version at http://phiffer.org/projects/wikipedia-animate/

At least it works, but there are some bugs. For instance, once you pause, you can't start again (at least with my user JS), and the "animate" tab isn't actually in the tab bar ("cactions" portlet).

Erm, still not working. Is anyone really updating this script? It's always updated the day I visit, but nothing changes. It never works.

Good idea, but doesn't work. FF 1.5.0.6, GM 0.6.6.

Unfortunately doesn't work for me either. Most other scripts I've tried work fine but not this one. Are there any known conflicts with extensions firefox hacks etc? FYI I'm using Linux i686 2.6.11.5, Firefox/1.5.0.1

Does this script work in ff 1.5/greasemonkey 0.6.4? I don't see any changes on the page.

Tried adding an alert() call to the code, but that's not happening either...

Not really, but I am surprised you couldn't figure out the script. If you notice when you install a new user script for GreaseMonkey, it specifies the URLs for which the script will be active. In the case of this one, you need to go to the History tab of an entry on Wikipedia. There you will find the "Animate" button that will allow you to animate between the various versions of an article.

I'm with Theodore and not seeing anything... I figured there'd be a popup toolbar or such on every wikipedia page, but I don't see anything, popups or else. Please help us newbies! (no offense ted ;)

Okay, I'm not a programmer. I do not understand the fundamental mechanics of GreaseMonkey, yet I love it in practice and especially in theory.

I have "adblocker" and "Book Burro" which is freakin' brilliant mind you and I just added "Wikipedia Animate" today, but I can't figure out how to use or I can't recognize what is suposed to have done. Can someone (Dan?) please clarify what it will look like when the gizmo works\what I might be doing wrong.

Thanks and I really like the concept of the script.

Very cool, I noticed a problem with some external links though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil%27s_Bridge for example.

Very interesting. It seemed to stall on some pages though. And the slider would sometimes not stop dragging after being released. Did you try using fixed positioning for the slider? I think that would work better than repositioning.

A fantastic piece of code that shows the evolution of a wikipedia page through versions just like a webcast, but you can also rewind, focus on a particular part of the page, highlight changes, and a lot more...

A must for evert wikipedia user and every greasemonkey apprentice !
