I wait for a modification for this problem.

Nav (Left) Pane Width, replied by Kevish

As to the width of the left nav pane, I have found that it does not adjust to accommodate contents. Therefore, this script has a tendency to truncate display of some of my labels.

I discovered a work-around myself by editing line 86 the script and changing the value below from 150px:
navPane.style.width = '170px';

If there is not a feasible way to determine the appropriate width dynamically, I would nominate this higher value for the pane width.

Fixed according to Gmail's new design, replied by Fabrizio

I think it makes some difference on the "compose" form, but not anywhere else.
Also, it adds an horizontal scroll bar below the left side menu... don't want to sound harsh, but that scrolbar has got no use at all :(

Fixed according to Gmail's new design, replied by Fabrizio

Maybe I don't get the purpose of this script, but looks to me like it's not working... when I scroll down, the left sidebar scrolls together with the page, and it goes out of sight exactly as when the script is not installed...

Cheeers :)

Has anyone else noticed a problem that this script clears the text of pending Drafts? It only happens to me when the script is enabled. If I disable & reload gmail, the draft text is there again. Strange...

I love your script! It works wonderfully, thanks for all this effort.

Archived Comments, replied by Reid Rivenburgh

Very nice, I like how the delete button and friends stay locked at the top. One issue I've run into, though, is that when you open a message, the keyboard focus is on the left column. I occasionally use only the keyboard to navigate, and it's a hassle to try to tab my way over to the message so I can hit the space bar to scroll the message. (I have a lot of labels on the left.) Is there some way you could force focus to the message?

Thanks, reid

Update: I actually tried to implement this myself, despite knowing very little about javascript, etc. As you can imagine, I couldn't get it to work. I tried calling focus() on various elements, faking a click on the convDiv... nada. Hopefully you'll have better luck!

This script is very useful, but there's a compatibility issue with the GMailSidePaneWidth script: (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/15741). It would be nice if it could be fixed.

Is there a way to make the top part of Gmail appear automatically? Currently, this script appears to close the top part when Gmail is loaded, and requires the user to click on the arrow button show the top part. I prefer to see the top of the page, because I use the multi-logon script, which sits at the top of the page.

Thanks!
