STILL WORKING, replied by Mattias Blom

Good to know. I'm currently browsing mostly with Chrome and IE (working at a MS-shop) so I don't use my own script more than ~once a week. So chances are I don't catch the cases where it breaks myself, even if it seems to tag along really well with the redesigns. Counting on comments here to enlighten me if it don't.

Developementwise, I'm still bugged by the workaround for ajax partial page-loads. I really should browse some other userscripts to see if anyone managed to hook into current facebook navigation framwork.

How about wall pics, too??, replied by Mattias Blom

I think it could work yes, and IIRC someone else already have done it, can't find the script right now though. But I don't think I will do it since it would raise the complexity of the script considerably and since I don't want that particular functionality myself it's not likely I will take the time needed. Sorry.

Can this be made to work with wall photos?
Or photos that you would see on your homepage that friends have posted to their wall??

Cmd+Shift+R fix (Mac OS X), replied by Mattias Blom

I actually fired up my old iBook and looked at this. Having some difficulties at first, I realized I was pushing the wrong buttons. And you seem to do that as well(?) Cmd+Shift+R should still reload the entire page, Ctrl+Alt+R (or in version 1.23, Ctrl+Alt+R or Cmd+Ctrl+R) should only reload hover pictures. If this is not what you are thinking about let me know.

Cmd+Shift+R fix (Mac OS X), replied by Preben Uhrskov

Hi,

Thanks for this fantastic script. Now I no longer have to right-click, View Image and replace the "s" with "n" ;-)

As you state in the change log, you already fixed the Ctrl+Shift+R AJAX bug for Windows users. Is it possible to fix it for Mac OS X as well? The key combination for force reload is Cmd+Shift+R if that helps you.

Thanks in advance

Is it possible to make the enlarged version fixed in position, replied by Mattias Blom

Making the large popup picture fixed could be done but that would require more advanced UI for knowing when/how to dispose of the larger image. Little popup boxes with an 'X' in the top right corner would be annoying, replacing the small image with the large one breaks the html etc.

I could make up plenty more excuses but the main one is: I like it this way better.

And of course, I'm lazy. Hey at least I fixed a keyboard shortcut for resetting the hover effect when it disappears (due to new partial page updating)

Is it possible to make the enlarged version fixed in position, replied by Maged Samuel

Hi
First - Thanks to this useful script. I just wanna ask about something:
Is it possible to make the enlarged version of the thumbnail fixed in position no matter if I'm still hovering with my mouse on the thumbnail. This 'll reduce eye strain a bit because the current script allows the enlarged version to move with my mouse movement. Hope I explained well and that I'm making sense.
Thanks a lot

no, If you have the APP Parking wars... the old script could go check out there profile when you hover over a person parking on your street, with yours it just follows the mouse pointer :(

not to sure if you redid the code from this one *but this is the one I thought you meant*

the original/the other? I'm sorry but I really don't understand what you're getting at? If the original is v.1, the update to 1.1 is nothing but a small hack for the partial reloading (AJAX) of friends list, it changes nothing in functionality. And as far as I remember, FB_PIC and inYoFacebook did more or less the same thing, showing a larger picture when hovering not by clicking.

you could click the photo and be taken directly to there profile no matter where you clicked the photo from

Isn't this what facebook does sans greasemonkey?

This one is useless! update the original and leave it how it was!

the other was perfect... you could click the photo and be taken directly to there profile no matter where you clicked the photo from.

Uj, I haven't logged in here for while. But I suggest that you split your script off and host it yourself. I myself like to keep the blowups for profile pics alone but your script works really well so no reason to keep it as a comment here. So I say branch in the name of "valfriheten" and I will link to that script with a detailed description of difference in functionality.

But I I will steal that bit about /statusupdates/ =) Nice!
