GM scripts only work with the new facebook after a page is refreshed (by the user or by interaction with the page) so until there is a way round this there's not much that can be done. Sorry!

Any hopes of an update with the new FB layout? I'm all re-cluttered again and the script isn't working anymore.

I was just wondering if there was going to be an update of this awesome script so that the applications in the extended profile section could be hidden as well? pretty please.

Type "about:config" into your firefox address bar, and search for "greasemonkey". Your settings should appear.

How do you transfer settings from one install to another? I have a dual-boot Windows/Linux setup, and would like to know which files to copy in order to use the same setup for both versions of Firefox, and not to have to manually hide all applications both times.

Just confirming what labealtaine says. Any applications that the user has chosen to place in their 'extended profile' are no longer hidden by this script.

(I suppose this actually isn't much of a problem, seeing as they've decided to hide them themselves!)

This has been working great, it's a real find. However I just noticed today that it no longer hides application in the 'hidden' section that facebook set up. So if one of my friends has one application that I do want to see, and twenty that I don't in their 'extended profile' section then when I go to the extended section it shows all of it.

Some more info: it doesn't seem to be the fault of any particular app nor a function of how many apps on the page are removed.

There's one issue I've noticed, though. When I have the script set to block all apps, the layout of certain profiles will break: the right column will appear under the left one. Once this happens on one profile, it happens on almost all of them, including ones on which the script does not run. I suspect it's a style problem, but I can't find which element is misbehaving. Restarting Firefox seems to do the trick, but I'm puzzled.

So many thanks to Ali Karbassi for posting a fix to the Facebook updates: I've incorporated his changes to the script, which should now be working. Sorry about the delay in fixing it - I've been painfully aware of how little time I've had to sort it out!

http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/15286

I've posted a fix for the "newer" version of the website. In facebook's latest push, they updates some html ids and classes. This caused things to break in THIS code.

This is an update since 0.13a. I hope ms609 grabs this and uses it. This way, it's just a continuation of what the script is, not a new script.

Everyone: Mine is just an update. If ms609 updates to 0.14 or later, use his.

ms609: You can use my source to update what you have (if you haven't figured another way around this). I hope this helps.

I am having the same problem everyone else seems to be having...

It worked absolutely wonderfully about two weeks ago, but now the x's are gone in the top left of the apps, and they are just minimized, not hidden...

Hopefully you can figure this out because this app made facebook worthwhile again...

In the News Feed, the application "FunWall" appears with the name "undefined". Hiding it once works, but then reloading the page shows it again. Can this be remedied somehow?

I also wrote to the developers of FunWall to point out the issue; that there probably is some constant that needs to be set, or so. (As all other apps I have encountered do show up with a proper name under Hidden Items).
