Oh, and I almost forgot (more kinda question, btw, but... :) ): That three commands in the Greasemonkey menu - are they supposed to work on demand, e.g. when you click on one will change the light immediately? Because it does not for me. If you need more info on plugins 'n addons 'n scripts I use for possible affections, I'll provide full data needed. KUtGW! ;]

I've been collecting add-ons, plug-ins and scripts to make my FF the Ultimate browser on Earth :) So I installed =YouTube "Lights Out"= and =Turn The Off The Lights= and many more. I also installed =Better YouTube= add-on for FF (currently v3.5.1) and your script doesn't seem to work right with it (Better YT (YT Theater mode), I mean), because the place you put the light switch does not exist with the tuning from Better YT. It would be really nice if you update your script for changing the place of the little-lamp-switch. A great place is just on the bottom of the player (so the two lamps are not confused (from the =Turn Off The Lights=)). And maaaaaaybe making the lamp a little bit bigger would be nice too ;] Keep up the good work!!

Ah, some guy found a solution. Add this to the end of the script:

document.getElementById("watch-player-div").style.position = "relative";
document.getElementById("watch-player-div").style.zIndex = "200";

It worked for me. Great script.

Hi,

Use this script everyday on Windows XP with FF 3.0.5 just fine, but this script lights out the whole page (including video screen) when used on Mac OS X Leopard using FF 3.0.5 and the latest flash players.

Is there a fix for this wonderful script? Anyone have the same issue?

YouTube has a new script for YouTube movies that masks everything below and to the right (with the exception of the ad) to focus on the video. I'd be nice if you could implement the same thing.

I have the same problem but for me works better adding these two lines at the end of the script:

document.getElementById("watch-player-div").style.position = "relative";
document.getElementById("watch-player-div").style.zIndex = "200";

My browser: FF 3.0.5 on Mac

at least for me, there was this problem that when i clicked on the icon, the whole page darkened out, including the player. just solved the problem by adding this line to the end of the script:
document.getElementById("watch-player-div").style.zIndex = "+1000";

Could you update this to have the official "Lights Off" button from on top of the video as seen here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF8uR6Z6KLc), but put it below the video (http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/6656/buttonj...)

edit: I tried and I failed to make it. Here's what I collected.

The body style is "background-image: url(http://www.youtube.com/img/longform-underlay-1x...); "

The button fits snugly inline below the flash video with a background color of #eaeaea, size 20(w)x18(h), and a pixel "btn-edge" (http://s.ytimg.com/yt/img/btn_edge-vfl58814.png) on the left and right side to form a 22(w)x18(h) "rounded" rectangle.

The default icon should be the "lights on" one (http://s.ytimg.com/yt/img/icon_lightson_16x16-v...) and the "lights off" icon (http://s.ytimg.com/yt/img/icon_lightsoff_16x16-...) will be the rollover.

And finally, the tooltip is the "tooltip reverse" (http://s.ytimg.com/yt/img/tooltip-reverse-vfl56...) but flipped vertically. Arial, 11pt font

Not big issues but when you click on the light bulb some videos on channels that don't have autoplay still show up in channel videos, can you make it that it only shows the videos being played and everything else lights out?
e.g - http://au.youtube.com/user/Hughsnews and scroll down

also maybe a transparent light bulb icon background so it mixes with the the channels theme background?

besides that keep up the good work!

there seems to be a problem with channel videos, the lights does'nt fully turn off on some text boxes and images.

Add a button inside the youtube player if you know how to embed the youtube player?and also watch out because sometimes when you watch a video it has annotiations and it could rewrite over your button so make sure when that happens it movies 1 step to the left
